Hello, we will be posting our songs with their background stories.
Mama’s Footprints was the very first song I wrote. My husband and I left church on a Sunday and the words Mama’s footprints kept repeating in my mind. When we got home, I grabbed one of my writing notebooks. OK Lord. He gave me the words as we worked it my usual way through a story concept. Next put it to music. Ok?? Now I had to find out how to put it to music. I can chicken scratch on a piano, but writing notes and formatting a song… I remembered Musicful that I had played with earlier the last year when writing my children’s book. It does allow you to craft your music and even get down to each instrument. By late afternoon, I was asking “Now what Lord?” He told me to send it to Ronnalee, one of my dear friends and I knew all along it was for her because we wrote about three little girls following their mom around and adhering to her beliefs in Jesus Christ. I texted it over and told her God told me this was for her. When she contacted me later, she had been sobbing on her bed because it was one of the worst days she had had. Side note: Ronnalee is the most optimistic person I know! I didn’t know she would need this, but God did. Always try to be obedient to God! You never know where the results will lead you!
