Fun Summer Ideas for Kids

Parents.com has a plethora of ideas concerning summer activities and food for your kids. So I am going to start with their Top 10 list.

  1. Swing in a hammock with your child.
  2. Do yard work together.
  3. Play dress up with them.
  4. Build a secret fort with sheets.
  5. Hold a car wash.
  6. Go on a bug safari.
  7. Befriend a firefighter.
  8. Chalk it up.
  9. Make beautiful music.
  10. Dance in the rain.

My list.

  1. Build a tent with sheets and chairs in your house, on a rainy day, like The Tent Maker mom.
  2. Get the sprinkler out and hold a bike wash.
  3. Lay on a blanket under the stars and count them.
  4. Go fishing.
  5. Have your kids write or make up a story and then turn it into a play for them to  perform.
  6. Go to your local library.
  7. Plant a small container garden.
  8. Write letters to soldiers over seas.
  9. Visit an elderly home.
  10. Cook with your kids.
