Nurturing Self and Others

Hello there! As we find ourselves in the swift currents of February, it’s a good moment to pause, take a breath, and genuinely ask ourselves, “How are you doing?” This month is often associated with expressions of love, and in the spirit of “Give Love to Get Love,” it serves as a timely reminder to not only extend kindness to others but also to conduct a thoughtful mental health check-up for ourselves.

February, with its Valentine’s Day celebrations, is traditionally dedicated to love, affection, and connection. While expressing love to our friends, family, and partners is undoubtedly important, let’s not forget the significance of self-love and self-care. In the midst of our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook our own well-being. This month encourages us to prioritize our mental health and emotional balance.

Taking a moment to reflect on your mental well-being doesn’t necessarily mean dwelling on challenges or stressors; it can also involve acknowledging your achievements, expressing gratitude, and embracing moments of joy. Cultivating self-awareness allows us to better understand our emotions and respond to them in healthy ways.

Consider incorporating simple yet effective practices into your routine, such as mindfulness meditation, journaling, or spending time in nature. These activities can contribute significantly to your mental health by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and fostering a positive mindset.

In addition to focusing on self-care, February offers an opportunity to connect with others on a deeper level. Acts of kindness, whether big or small, can have a profound impact on our relationships and our own sense of well-being. Reach out to friends, family, or colleagues, not just to express love but also to genuinely inquire about their

well-being. Sometimes, a thoughtful conversation can be a powerful form of support.

Remember that mental health is a continuous journey, and checking in on yourself doesn’t have to be reserved for a specific month. However, the symbolism of February can serve as a gentle nudge to prioritize your emotional well-being and strengthen the connections that contribute to a fulfilling life.

As we navigate the rapid pace of the year, let’s make an intentional effort to give love, receive love, and nurture our mental health. May this month be a reminder that amidst the hustle and bustle, taking care of ourselves and each other is a meaningful and valuable pursuit.

God Bless You!

Putin’s Invasion of Ukraine, Who Is Next?

I wanted to write my opinion on what is happening between Russia, Ukraine, and the world. But unfortunately, my family has asked me not to because American Freedom of Speech is no longer free. America is the country that I love so much; now I am heartsick over how we have evolved! And without the freedom to speak, all I can ask for is prayer.

So, please Pray for America and our leaders, Russia and her leaders, Ukraine and her leaders, and NATO. Then raise your prayers for the innocent people caught between politics, aggressive leaders, wealthy corporations, and banks. Finally, ask for God’s discernment to prevail in this volcanic situation because God can take care of stupidity and crazy when we cannot!

Sticky note reminder.

Never forget that the Holocaust was confirmed in 1939. But, just because it was the Jewish people exterminated then does not mean another country will not choose you and your family to eliminate in 2022. And, we have learned the catchword of aggressive dictators is “treason,” for why they kill, maim, and invade border countries.

Sticky note reminder number two.

Some good questions to ask ourselves are, “Can we be seen as a traitor to them?” Or, “Are the Ukrainians the next world Holocaust victims?” “And will the world turn a blind eye again to what is happening in Europe?” Very important questions to ask yourself when deciding your own allegiance.

Commentary.

The saddest part of this whole invasion is that the ordinary people, on both sides, do not want to kill one another. Our younger generations have evolved into higher and better humans beings while some of the older world leaders need to evolve into their local nursing homes! Our younger generations want peace and normal lives, they don’t require conflict and political games to exist. Open your eyes to the truth!

A blessing and prayer for the Ukraine.

May God bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you. May God give your country’s leaders discernment to navigate the warmongering difficulties and keep your family safe.

Heavenly Father, Please wrap your protective wings around Ukraine and her people! Bless them with superior strength and discernment and send in Your Angel armies for her defense. In Jesus Name! Amen!

There Is Good News And Bad News

There is good news and bad news. I am sure you have heard the statement at least once. But good and evil are everyday occurrences in living life, don’t you think? The good news every day is that Jesus Loves You and that you are still alive! Rejoice! The bad news can be numerable things that don’t go your way, including financial, health, and family issues. Are they really that bad?
I recently read that rent is going up, creating a dilemma for those on limited incomes, middle-class and low-income families, and single parents. As inflation soars, so will the cost of living, including rent, food, and gas. What are our legislators thinking? When those who have plenty of money and resources can not find a way to care about those who do not, there is no America, and there is no community. Educated ignorance is the great divide that separates us all! I believe within the next three years; we will see America’s demise. The rich will survive, and the rest of us may become their laborers. We will be providing them with their lavish lifestyles while trying to put food on our tables. Now that is a bad day, month, and year!
But I have heard stories of incredible survival, murmurings of one who can change your life even when the circumstances surrounding you do not change. One who can make a way, open a door, and change the way the powerful and wealthy even think. I am talking about Jesus. There are stories throughout the centuries of those who have withstood the famines, wars, and inflations. They put their complete trust and control in Jesus by giving Him their heart, family, and finances. I am not saying they did not have difficult times or became extremely wealthy. For when we dedicate ourselves to Jesus, we will have tribulations. But, He will be there to go through them with us and show us the way.
So what do you do?
First, you pray to Jesus and ask Him to become Lord of your life. Then inquire about your family, finances, work, and America’s inflation. Maybe if we all pray together regarding America’s inflation, God will open the ears and hearts of our leaders! God will answer you, and it might not be what you want to hear. I always like to tell Him what I want to hear. And I can hear Him from heaven sighing and stating, “Uh, Huh.” Or it may not be in the time frame you desire because it will always be in God’s timing. Which, by-the-way, is the best for us.
Next, pray some more. Make prayer a daily habit. You don’t have to express lofty words or bible verses; make it from the heart. All He wants is your heart to worship and praise Him, and God wants to love you back throughout eternity.

A blessing for you. May God bless you and keep you. May He give you Devine insight during your prayers to help you navigate difficult times and peace knowing He is the one in control! In Jesus Name, Amen!

Peeking Out My Tent Flap, One More Time

As the pandemic raged on and with the ever-changing guidelines, we decided to do what we thought best to keep our family safe. Didn’t you do the same? So, part of our garage became a decontamination zone. Being careful meant showering after going out and utilizing pick-up and delivery. Clorox and Lysol became our pantry’s mainstay. And, our daily existence changed, as did everyone else.

The world kept moving forward, with death tolls rising. Covid began in a controlled laboratory, and it was taking full advantage of its newfound freedom. My mind raced again during this time. Was it a controlled laboratory? Or was it a way of genocide that got out of hand? Maybe Covid was a test to see how other countries react to a pandemic and where their vulnerabilities lie. Not only was my mind racing to the outer edges of conspiracies, but the output of public information was more erroneous than truthful. Who were we to believe? I found it necessary to become a scientific researcher and utilize my logical brain for making decisions concerning Covid. I closed my social media apps and turned off the news.

It was during this time that I was reminded in Acts 17:11, even the bible says to find out for yourself, do your due diligence! And for those of you who did, I commend you. And for those of you who glued yourself to social media, news outlets, and other erroneous outlets, it is time you learn how to research, discover and think for yourself.

Acts 17:11 King James Version

“These were nobler than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

I did find it funny and sad that some Americans still had their “American” way about them during this disastrous time. Self-centeredness and blatant, vicious retaliation at those who did conform to safety protocols were seen daily. Aren’t we free in America to make decisions concerning ourselves and our families? Covid showered a bright spotlight on the truth of our self-centeredness, randomness, and nothingness, which is so rampant in America today. I would even call them the idols of our century.

I asked myself more than once, “Why, oh why does God put up with America and not smite us down like Sodom and Gomorrah?” I can answer that question. It is because we still support Israel, and one day we will stop doing so. The smiting will come if it is not already happening. (Sorry, but I love the word smite!)

I am lowering the flap of my tent.

So, if God tells us to utilize the brains He gave us, why have we become so lazy in that area of our lives? Is it easier to live in lies than truth? Did the pandemic create a covering of fear which helped to progress social media’s agendas, brought out the liars, and propaganda spreaders to ensure its’ stranglehold on the people of the world? Yes and Yes!

But we can take this disease by the tail and shake it hard. We can find a way to live our lives harmoniously with one another and the disease.  It is all about living our truths daily for ourselves, our families, and our communities.  Respect and kindness should be the attitudes toward one another.  And realizing that what is our truth may not be someone else’s truth. And that is ok!

This is going to be an interesting journey as to where we will head.  Society and the landscape of most countries will be altered because of Covid. But never forget the One who is in control! If you are anxious, fearful, or have decisions to make, go to Him. He is waiting to comfort you, guide you, and love you through all times in your life!

God Bless You!

Afghan Women’s Robotic Team Opening Doors

I am sure everyone knows what is going on in Afghanistan with the Taliban taking over since America decided to pull out.  Being that the Taliban are fundamental, hard-line Islamists, I worry along with the world that Afghanistan will return to its’ tribal system.  A system that honors killing for opposition and women resume slave-like existence.  Yep, we are already seeing it unfold in the news now.  The Taliban is going house to house and killing people.

Soapbox speech coming next.

America and her allies helped to stabilize the region and assisted all Afghan people to pursue their dreams for a better country, a better life.  But we mindlessly sent billions of dollars to the wrong Afghan administrators.  We made them wealthy and they were able to flee the country when the Taliban took over.  I think we should hunt them down and get our money back!  And one more thing I do not understand is that America has bases all over the world, why not leave one in Afghanistan to help the country remain secure.  Do not flood their country with our money, they can develop commerce just like the rest of the world!  Afghanistan has very valuable resources.

Stepping down from soapbox.

As the Taliban has started searching the homes, one lady was worried about the women on the Afghan Olympic Robotics Team. These are young women, ages 16 to 18, who were studying to be Scientists and Engineers.  Their dream of pursuing careers in these respected fields was about to end and maybe along with their lives.  Along comes Allyson Reneau, a 60-year-old Harvard graduate with a Master’s degree in international relations and US space policy.  She had the knowledge, the means, and a way to get the young ladies out of Afghanistan. But all the right doors had to open, they did, and the window of opportunity was “a now or never” scenario. So it was now!  God Bless Allyson Reneau for her fortitude and courage in getting those ladies out!  And thank God for providing Allyson, open doors, and windows of opportunities!

I believe God initiated his plan before the young women were born to give the ladies doors of opportunity for education, for meeting the necessary people, and for putting them in Allyson Reneau’s life.  And now He has opened the way for them to pursue their dreams and remind us that in the end, we win!  (Read Revelation and you will understand Jesus defeating satan/evil.) We all have doors and windows of opportunity in our lives. Some we don’t see until after the fact and some present us with a which way to go predicament.  Be sure to pray and allow God to lead your way. God is the real eye and door opener.

Pray for Afghanistan and pray for our own leaders to possess good discernment concerning the volatile situation.  Pray for the Afghan Robotics team, for Allyson Reneau, and her family. If ever there was a time to pray it is now!  Scientifically the world is slowing down but humanity is reviving up the evil and only God can cover us with His protective hem of His garment!

Heavenly Father,

I come before you to ask that you forgive me of my sins and forgive America for her sins.  Father, I ask that you put your hem over the Afghan people and protect them from the evil that has now taken over their country.  I ask for wise discernment to be given to our President and those who are his advisors.  Open their eyes to the evil they have opened the door for it to go through!  I ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! Amen!

God Bless You!

I Asked God for A Sign

On Tuesday, June 16, it was time for my five-year colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Have you ever noticed how time flies when these medical re-checks come around? I thought about holding a protest over the “five-year” rule and demand it be every eight years. To my great disappointment, media interest was null, so I dropped my protest idea.

All joking aside, the day before the procedure had arrived and prep time was a “go!” After doing the first part of the prep for the colonoscopy, I had to wait until 3 am Tuesday morning for the second part of the prep. Knowing I would not sleep anyway, I found myself mindlessly channel flicking throughout and into the early morning hours. Can you imagine not one good old movie was on! Before my 3 am alarm went off, I thought it was the perfect time to read my bible and say my prayers.

During my prayers, I asked God to give me a sign everything was going to be okay, it was all under His control, and He was there with me. Also, to make it simple for me to understand. Even though the procedure would be at an outpatient facility, and we were notified of the protocol because of COVID 19, I was a little concerned.

After doing my 3 am prep, 6 am and time to leave for the facility arrived quickly, especially when you are in the bathroom the whole time. We left and made it to the facility with 15 minutes to spare, and by ten til 7, I needed to go inside and use the restroom. By 7 am, we were inside and going through the admittance procedures, and then we would sit in our socially distant seats to wait for the nurse to call me back. Buddy would have to go to the car to wait for me when I went to the surgical area. No sign had appeared yet.

About 15 minutes later, the nurse came to the doorway and called my name. I had my plastic insert from my purse, which contained my phone and some other items they wanted me to have with me, like my inhalers. Upon reaching the nurse, the first thing she says to me is, “Buc-ees!” The back of my phone has a Buc-ee the beaver button. I inhaled a deep breath and sigh. There was my sign!

Spending the last eight years in Texas, you get to know Bucees. It is a glorified gas station and store. Buc-ees sells items made by people in Texas, and it has some of the best food and BBQ, and the cleanest bathrooms in the world. I am not joking about the bathrooms because these are their pride and joy. Eighteen wheelers are not allowed, and there are spaces to walk your dog with poop bags provided. They pay above regular wages, give great incentives and insurance to their employees. Finally, a business done right! And the owners will never franchise because they have incredibly high standards that they do not want to depend on others to initiate.

You are probably wondering how Buc-ees can be a sign from God. My nurse was raised in Dallas and went to college at A&M at College Station, Texas. We talked about Texas and Buc-ees. And I felt very peaceful.

For this to be a coincidence is very unlikely, especially since we are in North Carolina now. And yes, I believe when God planned my future, He knew then that I would ask for a sign. So if you think about how every detail had to be aligned in both of our lives to make this happen, it is mind-blowing. And that is how much God loves all of us!

He loves you the same way!

As always, God Bless You!

God Said No

It has been a rainy week in Charlotte, NC, and I am feeling as blah as the weather because I have been painfully reminded that life is not all sunshine and roses. When someone you know and care about loses their child, and a sister loses her baby sister, life takes on a different meaning. And if you are human, you too can feel and understand their grief and sadness.

We prayed and prayed for Keri to be healed in our human meaning of healing. For God to give her back to us, her family, her husband, and her children. Keri’s human healing was not to be God’s will, and God is sovereign. I say it that blunt way because it is how I need to hear it. There are no arguments, no pleading when God’s will is going to be accomplished. And yet, the human side of me wants to argue and intends to plead one more time, even if it is to ask for resurrection. It is a hard lesson for me with my walk with Christ. I can always find a hundred ways from Sunday why He should listen to me one more time. God tells me to sit down, be still, and listen to Him. Yes, God is Sovereign. And He said, “No,” to Keri staying here.

In the bible, God tells us that His ways are not our ways, and I know God thinks and perceives on a level I am unable to comprehend. Knowing and trusting His sovereignty does not take away the pain or the grief felt by us humans. So I must remind myself that Jesus took our pain to the cross, experiencing every minute facet of human emotion. He knows our pain intimately, and He knows Keri’s family is suffering. I believe Jesus grieves with them and will continue to until they see Keri again.

For now, my choice is prayer for Keri’s family and throughout the next year to remember them as they move forward without her but with an amazing faith in our Savior.
For Keri.

You walked this earth with a heavenly grace that sparkled throughout the universe.
Generously illuminating the many lives, you touched with your hope, grace, and love.
Were you one of God’s earthly angels given this short amount of time?
And with your job well done, it was time for God to call you home?
We will not know for now.
Those you have left here find ourselves a little lost and our world somewhat dimmer.
But you, dear Keri, will carry on as the Guardian Angel shepherding over your precious loved ones.
Shining your angelic light through them, and watching their very steps, until the day you meet again in glorious Heaven above.

Please Pray for Keri

Prayer is a powerful weapon or tool, depending on how you look at it. For me, it is the air that I breathe, prayer is my waking moments, and my sleep, for me to not be in communication with God, would cause me to wither up and die!

Now, I am asking that you pray also.

A young lady named Keri needs your prayer to come home to her husband, young son, and daughter. She had a cyst in her brain, blood clots in her brain, and I believe it is over seven cranial surgeries. She had the Shunt used in her surgery, an operation that has never been performed throughout the world, named after her, Keri’s Shunt. Keri is fighting hard, and the doctors are amazed at the miracles they are seeing with her. But this is a long road back, and with every step forward, there can be setbacks.
I will keep you updated if you take the time to stop and say a prayer every day for Keri. A simple, “Lord, please heal Keri.” is fine. And when she is completely healed, I will let you know too.
Thank you!
May God Bless You Always!

Pray for Keri May 5, 2020, 2:30 PM

Heavenly Father,

Today, we join our voices and our spirits into one as we come before Your throne of grace, mercy, and healing and bring Keri to You.  Please open the blood vessels in her brain and allow them to flow as You had made them when she was in Kitty’s womb.  Heal every particle in Keri’s brain so she will once again be whole.  We lift Keri up to You as we bow to your sovereignty.  Fill her hospital room with your healing and loving fragrance dear Jesus, as You lay Your healing hands upon Keri’s precious head. Please shine Your light and love on Keri’s family as we bring our spirits, minds, and hearts into one for Keri.

In Jesus Christ Holy and Precious Name, I Pray!

Amen! Amen! Amen!
